The University of Dayton RecPlex, located at 2 Evanston Avenue in Dayton, Ohio, is a comprehensive recreation facility designed to meet the diverse fitness and wellness needs of its community. Opened in January 2006, the 129,540-square-foot facility aims to modernize campus recreational activities and enhance the student experience. The RecPlex offers a wide range of training and program options. It features three fitness studios for group fitness classes, personal training consultations, and other instructional sessions. The facility also hosts numerous intramural sports leagues and club organizations, providing opportunities for both competitive and non-competitive participation. Programs include swimming lessons, various dance types, martial arts, and table tennis, among others. The facility boasts an extensive array of amenities, including a 10,000-square-foot fitness center with a variety of cardio and strength training equipment. It houses an indoor aquatic center with an eight-lane lap pool, a vortex leisure pool, a diving well, and an eight-person spa. Other notable features include a 35-foot climbing wall with a bouldering cave, three racquetball courts, a two-court multi-activity gym, a four-court gymnasium, and an 1/8-mile indoor running track. Additionally, an outdoor sand volleyball court and a 5-acre outdoor turf facility named Stuart Field are available. Full-time undergraduate students are eligible to use the RecPlex with their student ID, while graduate students can gain access through a Campus Recreation Membership. The facility also serves faculty and staff, promoting health, wellness, and community engagement across the university.
